SigDeploy vs Google Workspace's built-in email signatures
Google Workspace can add a company footer to outgoing mail for free. It does not personalize it per person. Here is when the built-in option is enough and when it is not.
Last reviewed October 8, 2026
The short version
Use Google's Append footer if one identical block of text for a whole unit is enough. Use SigDeploy when each person needs their own name, title and phone, or different teams need different signatures.

Frequently asked questions
Can Google Workspace give every employee a personalized signature?
Not through the Append footer, which is one fixed block per organizational unit. Personalized signatures need either each person to set their own or the Gmail API, which is what SigDeploy uses for you.
Does SigDeploy replace the Append footer?
They do different jobs. The Append footer is added by Google to outgoing mail and cannot be edited by users. SigDeploy sets each person's own Gmail signature, which they can edit.
Is the built-in option free?
Yes, it is included with Google Workspace. SigDeploy is a paid add-on at $25 a month for up to 100 employees, after a 7-day free trial.
